Do you want to replace your existing website?

As well as building new websites from scratch, I am often asked to replace existing websites. There are a number of reasons for this - below are just a few of them.

"Our site has failed Google's Mobile test."

Google has announced that websites that are not "mobile-friendly" may be penalised by Google in terms of how well they rank for search results.

"We can't update our existing website."

This is something I come across frequently, and can arise for a variety of reasons. Often the person who created the website is no longer around or interested.

Sometimes there is a problem with the relationship between the organisation and the original designers.

"We have tried to build our own website but we are not happy with the result."

If this is the case then I can normally use any information and images that you want to keep and transfer them to a new site. I will be able to use your existing domain (your www. address) if you want to keep it the same.

"Our website looks outdated and we want to give it a modern design."

You can spot an outdated website design a mile off! The emphasis these days is on clean, simple designs that are easy to navigate and look good on all types of devices, such as tablets and mobile phones. Gone are the crazy colour schemes and fancy graphics that simply distract website visitors without adding any benefits to the visitor at all.

"Our website has broken links, or images that don't load, or forms that no longer work"

If your website has a single broken link, or a feature that just does not provide the site visitor with a good experience, then you need to fix this urgently. Having a website that is "broken" like this is worse than having no website at all!

"We think we are paying too much for our existing website"
